Sunday, June 28, 2009 Currently Playing: It Had Better Be Tonight (Meglio Stasera) Michael Buble Today signifies the last day of my idleness. At least three-fourths of the student population are gonna get me for saying this, but having wasted my life away for the last coupla of weeks, I'm glad it's finally back to school tmrw! Nonetheless, gd luck for MYEs ;-) Spent my Saturday with Esther and Wei Wen. Esther and I met to thread our eyebrows..she couldn't help cursing as the lady was working on her brows which was pretty damn hilarious to watch. We went to the Sports Hall to meet Sharm who was fencing Cadets' Team, then left to have lunch with WW. Wanted to watch a movie, but knowing full well that he'd take the longest time to get ready, we headed down to WW's place to help him get dressed for a dinner at Swissotel before our show. True enough, he ended up sleeping while Esther and I entertained ourselves with wacky vids. Oh wells. The month of July's gonna be insane..with work, orientation camp, training, FSI, HK trip and a possible quarantine order before uni term begins. Wish me luck!
Wednesday, June 24, 2009 Currently Playing: Save Tonight Eagle Eye Cherry One of the songs that I can never tire of. Met with Esther in town yesterday. She brought 5 dozen of Krispy Kreme donuts, many packets of Kellogg's Rice Krispies in almost every flavour and some clothes back for us all. You've gotta love this one in Chocolate Caramel. Wei Wen came down to USQ to meet us after training and we had supper at Thomson Road. Made plans for the weekend but we'll see how it goes. That guy has refereeing duties for Cadets' on Saturday. Muscles are aching today but at least it's a sign of effort so I try not to be bothered. Spent my day unproductively again but I promise to get some reading done tomorrow. On a side note, Yong Lin's back from US for good! Ok g'nite! Hope everyone's well
Monday, June 22, 2009 Esther's back from UK!
Sunday, June 21, 2009 Currently Playing: Save Room John Legend And so it's been another week of vegging out at home. Registered for the orientation camp that will take place from the 6th to 10th of July. The WKWSCI seniors surprised us all by delivering the camp package to every single one of us personally instead of mailing it which, I thought, was a very sweet gesture. I'd always been unenthusiastic about camps but this time, I'm almost looking forward to it. Good start, I reckon. With an impending school closure, it's gonna be another long long long long long long break. Hope I find more productive ways to spend my time. Till then!
Friday, June 12, 2009 Currently Playing: Save Room John Legend Five days into holidays and I'm bored outta my mind. And since nobody's been in school to water Ms Lee's plant, I'm guessing that it's dead already. Fel suggested that I should text Ms Lee and let her know. I hope Ms Lee wouldn't be angry. There's a bit of restructuring of training schedule. Only two students are left in the present Friday class and the management's thinking of moving everyone to the class on Saturday evening by Coach YL. This is a problem because I've always preferred training under Coach Min. Min recommended a change of class to the one at USQ but that itself is another problem altogether. Sigh will have to speak to one of the maestros next week but I don't have a good feeling about it. NTU matriculation package came in the mail two days ago. I've got a school email account now but the pre-assigned names were quite um, tacky. Ok sorry I shouldn't be complaining since I chose the finalised one myself. Am counting down to July 16th! ![]()
Wednesday, June 10, 2009 Hurray it's been confirmed..i'm going to hong kong!
Thursday, June 04, 2009 ![]() A truly inspiring film. Caught Crab Flower Club with Crystal this evening. It'd been a long time since I last attended a play and I'm glad the Crab Flower Club was not a disappointment. The plot's engaging and the characters were interesting, but the setting and costumes weren't as elaborated as I had imagined them to be. "What else is our life but a series of preludes to that unknown Hymn, the first and solemn note of which is intoned by Death? - Love is the glowing dawn of all existence; but what is the fate where the first delights of happiness are not interrupted by some storm, the mortal blast of which dissipates its fine illusions, the fatal lightening of which consumes its altar; and where in the cruelly wounded soul which, on issuing from one of these tempests, does not endeavour to rest his recollection in the calm serenity of life in the fields? Nevertheless man hardly gives himself up for long to the enjoyment of the beneficent stillness which at first he has shared in Nature's bosom, and when "the trumpet sounds the alarm", he hastens, to the dangerous post, whatever the war may be, which calls him to its ranks, in order at last to recover in the combat full consciousness of himself and entire possession of his energy." - Les Préludes, Franz Liszt
