Tuesday, April 28, 2009 Currently Playing: This Is Our God Hillsong "Once I, Chuang Tzu, dreamed I was a butterfly and was happy as a butterfly. I was conscious that I was quite pleased with myself, but I did not know that I was Tzu. Suddenly I awoke, and there was I, visibly Tzu. I do not know whether it was Tzu dreaming that he was a butterfly or the butterfly dreaming that he was Tzu. Between Tzu and the butterfly there must be some distinction. [But one may be the other.] This is called the transformation of things." The above excerpt was given for the aptitude test on Sunday. For Q1, we were told to write an interpretation of 'transformation' as depicted above, and then to draw something of any scale to show your idea of transformation in Q2. Finally, based on your interpretation in Q1, construct a model which encapsulates the idea of transformation in Q3. Though the test was nothing like I'd seen before, I had fun writing, drawing and making in that short span of time. Much to my delight, I got shortlisted for the next round of interview, which is tomorrow. I'm just gonna go in, do my best, and hope that things turn out well. Whatever the outcome may be, I'd be thankful. I particularly remember going for the NTU interview and God spoke to me so clearly right before the interview, in the waiting room. Cannot imagine how I'd have survived all these without Him. Ok this post is not typical of me but I'm so overwhelmed. Thank you Crystal for helping me with sketching. Thank you everyone who wished me well, especially Ms Leong, Fel and Ms Steph. Thank you Lord. You are amazing.
Sunday, April 26, 2009 Currently Playing: Promises Desperation Band Last week was insane. First there was the Eco-newsletter which Fel and I had to finish in 1.5 days, then there were tons of assignments to mark, then the architecture portfolio, then movie screening till 7 every evening for Earth Week etc. Never felt more tired in my life but it was pretty rewarding. My weekend was spent on attending a coupla interviews and the like for uni admission. Had a non-acad interview with NTU yesterday for comm. studies mainly, and sat for an aptitude test for NUS architecture this morning. Will see how things go from there! On a side note, PJ was overall champion for SLA Spatial Challenge 2009. Ms Leong, Fel and I headed down to SMU after lessons on friday to support the team of students led by Mr Osman. The students were supposed to use GIS in their projects..yes, the machine we so ignorantly referred to as the Alien Detector Machine. Ok i'm outta here. Have a great week ahead everyone.
Wednesday, April 22, 2009 Currently Playing: The Power of Your Love Rebecca St. James This whole aptitude test and interview is driving me nuts. I spent the last coupla days researching on Singapore architecture, trying to differentiate the architectural styles from different periods, building models from paper etc. to avoid making a fool outta myself during the test this sunday. Thought this would be fun but it's been almost five hours at my desk and I've yet to come up with anything decent for my portfolio. Help, i'm on a creative blank.

Currently Playing: Love Love Love James Blunt I had a quiet birthday this year. Nevertheless, it was pleasant and I wouldn't mind spending more of such birthdays. Am absolutely chuffed with my new Longchamp Le Pliage. Thank you Fel and Ms Leong!  Went to church today. Thought sermon's really good. Pastor Daniel preached on something that's close to the heart.Thank you to Nissi Cheryl and Adina for the surprise, btw :-) And finally, thank you to all who have wished either via sms/facebook/msn.
