Sunday, March 02, 2008 ![]() “Women always identify with one of the four classic archetypes: The Virgin, whose search springs from her complete independence, and everything she learns is a fruit of her ability to face challenges alone. The Martyr finds her way to self-knowledge through pain, surrender and suffering. The Saint, find her true reason for living in unconditional love and her ability to give without her asking anything in return. The Witch justifies her existence by going in search of complete and limitless pleasure.” - The Witch of Portobello, Paulo Coelho I know I took a really long time to finish the book, but this is one of those books which one feels like reading it only when one has the time and mood to get absorbed into that world. It's beyond amazing, and I can't help but to re-read it all over again. I'm currently reading another book by Mr Coelho - Veronika Decides To Die. So far so good, but it hasn't been quite as inspiring as The Witch of Portobello. Who knows, we shall see. I learnt of a rather shocking piece of news yesterday but it shall be my secret for now. Anyway, I'm glad Dad reacted quite positively. I love you Daddy. Esther came over for training yesterday and we had two very aggressive bouts. It's almost like we were out to kill each other; both my shoulders are quite badly bruised. Coach YL had to stop us briefly and told us both to calm down. And Esther, your scream is ear-piercing!!!! Nevertheless, I had some fun fencing you. See you friday :-) Have a great week ahead, everyone.
